Why Pro uses a shared LMS White iOS app

Updated 5 September 2026 · ~6 min read

How Apple App Store rules on template-style apps shape the Pro plan: white-label Android, shared iOS experience for learners.

What this means for you

On Pro, you get a fully white-label Android app. On iOS, learners use the shared LMS White iOS app — there is no separate client-branded App Store listing on Pro.

Enterprise and Custom can use a dedicated Apple Developer account and publish under your organisation, as agreed commercially.

Why Apple shapes this (not LMS White preference)

Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines push back on spammy or low-differentiation “template” apps — many white-label products that only swap a logo and feed from the same backend have faced rejection or enforcement. Publishing dozens of near-identical client apps from one product line is a known industry risk on iOS.

Pro therefore uses a shared LMS White iOS container for learners while Android remains white-label. That is a response to Apple’s store model, so Pro customers still get iOS access without promising a dedicated branded listing Apple may reject.

Examples

  • Two coaching brands on Pro share the LMS White iOS app shell but see their own courses after sign-in — Android can still be fully branded.
  • A brand that needs its own App Store name, icon and listing chooses Enterprise and a dedicated Apple account.

What LMS White controls: offering Pro vs Enterprise publishing models that match store reality.

What LMS White does not control: Apple’s review outcomes, guideline updates, or template-app enforcement. We design plans around those rules so you are not sold an iOS listing we cannot honestly guarantee on Pro.
